UPDATE: Rural Warren man fall through ice on pond, drowns

TOWN OF SCOTT, Wis. -- A rural Warrens man is dead after drowning in a pond. 

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says 74-year-old James Potter fell through the ice Monday on the private pond in the Town of Scott.  He was riding an RTV at the time.

Family members pulled Potter from the water after he had been under the surface about 15 minutes.

Potter was taken to Tomah Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.
