Wisconsin's Governor is celebrating economic expansion within the state at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Arcadia on Monday.
Governor Scott Walker celebrated the completion of Ashley Furniture's construction project Monday evening. The 'Chapel Hill Advanced Technology Center' is a renovation of Arcadia's former hospital into a technologically advanced office building.
Governor Walker took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony, saying Ashley is an example of what Wisconsin has to offer companies.
"Not just jobs, but jobs with better long-term commitment and eventually, along the way, higher wages as people advance in their careers. That's a great commitment as well, and so we appreciate that and that it's being done here,” said Governor Walker.
Governor Walker also visited the site of the Myers Valley Creek Flood Control Project, where Ashley donated nearly six acres of land to reroute the creek. The project started after massive flooding in 2010 caused more than $10-million in damage in Arcadia.
