LA CROSSE, Wis. -

WAFER food pantry is now able to help people with more than just their meals... thanks to a donation from a local business.

WAFER was given ten lap top computers that were donated to the county by Gundersen Lutheran.

The computers are a place where people can apply for benefits and even search for jobs while they pick up food for their families. And WAFER is able to give one-on-one help to people who are applying. "We have volunteers and staff that are trained to walk them through the application process, and we'd really like the community to get involved with the application and come in and make use of the equipment we've been given," said Erin Waldhart from WAFER.

WAFER's next step is to install a telephone people can use to make appointments for job interviews.
