UW regents to discuss proposed new 2-year budget
The University of Wisconsin System board of regents is meeting to discuss the governor's proposed two-year budget, which includes $181 million in new taxpayer investments in the UW System.
The regents are scheduled to meet Thursday in Madison. The meeting will be streamed live online.
One of the key agenda items is a discussion on Gov. Scott Walker's proposed 2013-15 biennial budget. The budget allocation includes about $90 million to help keep the UW System affordable for students, and more than $40 million for previously approved construction projects.
The regents will also hear updates about a faulty payroll and benefits system that resulted in $33 million in overpayments for insurance premiums and pension contributions.
No votes or actionable items are on the agenda.
