UW-La Crosse is yet again ranked as one of the best universities in the Midwest.
The US News and World Report's 2017 America's Best Colleges list has UWL as the fourth best public school among regional universities in the Midwest. Only Truman State University, University of Northern Iowa, and Grand Valley State University beat out UWL.
This is the 16th year in a row UWL has kept its place in the top four. The regional category includes institutions providing a full range of undergraduate majors and master's programs.
Even with the ranking, Chancellor Joe Gow is focusing on the future.
"It's great to see that we have been able to maintain a high ranking for a very long time, but that doesn't mean, you know, you're only as good as next year, right? And so we've got to keep doing our best, and I know our people will,” said Gow.
The rankings are based off a wide range of variables, from student retention to academic reputation.
