MADISON, Wis. (AP) -

Two former soldiers in the Wisconsin Army National Guard will be inducted into the Guard's Hall of Honor.

The soldiers are retired Brig. Gen. Bruce Schrimpf of Cedarburg and retired Sgt. Maj. Gary Hans of Jefferson. They're being recognized for exceptional achievement and devotion to duty.

Schrimpf enlisted in 1969. He served in a number of legal roles, including as a staff judge advocate from 1992 to 2002. In that role he argued and won several cases relating to federal regulations about personnel matters.

Hans joined the Guard in 1980. He developed key training programs and also helped process thousands of soldiers for mobilization. He also helped develop a state program that honors fallen soldiers.

Schrimpf and Hans will be inducted May 5 in Madison.
