Did you know grasshoppers are able to hop twenty times their body length?
That's one of the many lessons offered at the Myrick Hixon EcoPark's Summer Eco Family Festival.
This is the second event of this style this summer, with the first taking place back in June. This weekend featured six new activites, focusing on interacting with nature.
Fest goers learned about birds, bugs, and animal behaviors while filling up a passport during their travels.
Event organizer Stephanie Hanna says it's all about getting people comfortable with nature.
"The idea is to get people outside, doing things outside, and also understanding about connecting to nature and how you can have fun and play outside and be safe," said Hanna.
The event continues on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. This event is free to attend.
