One of the men accused of attacking Wisconsin running back Montee Ball near campus Aug. 1 said he didn’t do it.

"I am wrongly accused -- I had nothing to do with the Montee Ball situation. I did not lay one finger on Montee Ball, and I am wrongly accused," said Deonte Wilson. He spoke to WISC-TV from the Dane County Jail.

"They're going after me because I was with a group of people the night of the incident -- I was with the group before and after the situation happened, and they have video of me being with the group."

Wilson was arrested Tuesday, along with Wendell J. Venerable and Robert A. Wilks. All three are University of Wisconsin-Madison students.

Lori Berquam, University of Wisconsin-Madison Dean of Students, released a statement Wednesday stating if students are found responsible for violating UW System codes, punishments could range from a meeting with the dean to suspension or expulsion.

University officials said they are unable to discuss the discipline of specific students.

Ball, a Heisman Trophy finalist last season as a junior, has said he had nothing to do with the fight. He hopes to be ready for the season opener.
