Three spiritual role models from our area are recognized for their commitment to their faith and work in the community.
Sister Kathy Stuttgen, Audrey Kader, and Rev. Kent Johnson are this year's recipients of the annual Iverson Freking Award.
They were honored at a luncheon in La Crosse on Wednesday.
All three strive to bring communities together, and provide comfort to the lives they touch.
"I felt I should continue to work that my dad used to do, in his 80s he used to go visiting the old people in the nursing homes," said Kader.
"What you give out ot other people comes back, especially the elderly," says Stuttgen, "if I can make a little difference in their lives, that's what I try to do."
"It's an honor to be included in that group and it's a challenge now to do more to build those relationships," says Kent.
This is the 27th year of the awards.
