SPARTA, Wis. -

Police say a vehicle traveling eastbound lost control because of icy road conditions, crossed over the center line and struck a vehicle head-on that was traveling westbound.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 40-year-old man from Norwalk, had to be extricated by emergency responders. He was transported to a hospital in La Crosse and is listed in stable condition.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 41-year-old female, and her passengers were not injured in the crash.
