Nearly three dozen meetings are scheduled to talk about next season's deer hunt in Wisconsin.
D.N.R. officials are calling the late March meetings more of an open forum.
It's an opportunity for hunters and landowners to discuss anything deer and deer-management related. That includes the hunting season's structure and and any policy changes.
"What we're seeing out on the landscape, talk about last season's numbers, how many were harvested, how the deer population's doing, if it's growing, if it's decreasing," said D.N.R. Wildlife Biologist Ron Lichtie.
The meetings are all scheduled for later this month based on which county you live in:
Westby Public Library - 3/18, 6:00 p.m.
-La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, Crawford
Arcadia High School - 3/25, 7:00 p.m.
-Buffalo, Trempealeau
Neillsville High School - 3/25, 7:00 p.m.
-Jackson, Clark
Eau Claire DNR Services Center - 3/21, 6:00 p.m.
-Dunn, Pepin, Eau Claire, Chippewa
