Two people were injured, one critically, in separate car-pedestrian crashes Friday night.
The first happened around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of La Crosse Street and Oakland Street. Police say a car hit a 23-year-old woman.
Tri-State Ambulance tells us she was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She later died due to her injuries.
The second pedestrian was hit only about 8 minutes later. This crash happened in Onalaska near the intersection of Wilson Street and Johnson Drive, not far from Onalaska High School.
Tri-State says that person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The two pedestrian crashes come just two days after another pedestrian was struck along Mormon Coulee Road in La Crosse. According to Western Technical college, Bernard Lawrence, 49, died from his injuries Friday morning. Lawrence was in the paralegal program at Western.
