was at the Westby Cooperative Creamery today to discuss
ways to improve the dairy industry.

It's why Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack annouced
Tuesday that the Department of Agriculture is willing
to purchase 20 million dollars of cheddar cheese in
an effort to increase demand.
We think that's one small way of providing some assistance
to reduce, over a period of time, invententory levels.

won't impact their business directly.
but say area farmers could see a difference.

out there on the open market, anywhere from a dollar
to five dollars under our cost, so that effect all
goes back to the farmer -- lower milk prices.

Secretary Vilsack also touched on the agricultural
benefits of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

in creating a healthy farming industry.
