ONALASKA, Wis. -

The La Croses Salvation Army kicked off its Red Kettle Campaign Friday.

Volunteers and kettles will be at 24 different locations in La Crosse and Onalaska.

All the proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army, which hope to raise $650,000 this year. The campaign kicked off at the Onalaska Festival Foods where more than $18,000 was collected last year.

"If you extrapilate that out to our four stores, our customers and our employees have really given back to the community in such a great capacity," said Michael Siakpere of Festival Foods.

Salvation Army Major Paul Moore said, "This is really an act of faith that we do cause we've already had over 1,000 people sign up for Christmas and we haven't raised a dollar yet so this is going to go for that and then pay for the other costs of the things that we do in this area in the coulee region."

The Salvation Army still needs bell ringers. To sign up, you can click here or you call (608) 782-6126.
