VIROQUA, Wis. -- The Readstown police chief facing misconduct in office charges is now accused of groping a teenage boy.

Shay Larson appeared in Vernon County Court to face the new charges filed Monday.

According to court documents the boy, who was 14-years-old at the time of the alleged assaults, told investigators Larson grabbed his buttocks and genitals while he was working community service last year in Readstown.

Larson, who the teen says was wearing his police uniform during the alleged assaults, also told the teen not to tell anyone about the incidents, or he would tell his parole agent, or arrest him.

In the misconduct case, Larson is accused of using his position as police chief to gain sexual favors and of lying to investigators.

Larson faces a maximum of 50 years in prison if convicted of the assault charges. He faces a maximum of nearly 10 years in prison if convicted in the misconduct case.
