LA CROSSE, Wis. -

The leader of the La Crosse Chamber of Commerce has submitted his resignation.

Dick Granchalek has served as the Chamber's president for the past 12 years. No reason was given for his departure.

"Prior to his arrival, the La Crosse Chamber was in a precarious financial situation. Through Dick's vigilance and hard work, today's chamber is financially healthy with exciting potential for growth," said Board of Directors Chairperson Dave Booth.

"As Chamber president, Dick was a strong advocate for La Crosse's business community and took great pride in the economic vitality and progressiveness of the Coulee Region," added Booth.

Granchalek has agreed to assist the board with the search for a new president.
