According to Western Technical College, Bernard Lawrence, 49, died Friday morning from injuries he sustained after being hit by a pick-up truck September 5th.
Lawrence was in the paralegal program at Western.
He was hit about 5:30 Wednesday morning while trying to cross Mormon Coulee Road on the south side of La Crosse.
An e-mail sent out by Western's Dean of Students Shelley McNeely said in part: "On behalf of Western, I extend heartfelt sympathy to Bernard's family, friends and classmates. Counselors are available in the Welcome Center for students and staff seeking support at this time."
Lawrence was visually impaired and used a reflective white cane with a red tip.

La Crosse Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Mormon Coulee Road on La Crosse's south side.
Bernard Lawrence, 49, was struck by a pickup truck in a northbound lane while crossing Mormon Coulee Road at South 33rd Street about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Lawrence remains in critical condition at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.
Mormon Coulee Road between 33rd Street and Broadview Place was closed following the crash. Lanes reopened about 8:00 a.m.
The speed limit on Mormon Coulee Road at 33rd Street is 40 mph.
Police say Lawrence was wearing dark colored clothing before sunrise.
Lawrence is enrolled at Western Technical College in the Paralegal program.
La Crosse Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol are still investigating the incident.

One person is hospitalized with life threatening injuries after an early morning crash on La Crosse's south side.
The crash involved a pickup truck and a pedestrian near the intersection of Mormon Coulee Road and South 33rd Street about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

La Crosse Police say the pedestrian was trying to cross Mormon Coulee Road just north of 33rd Street and was hit by northbound traffic. Police also say the pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing before sunrise.
Mormon Coulee Road was closed between 33rd Street and Broadview Place following the crash, but all lanes have since been reopened.
A viewer said that traffic northbound on Highway 35 was backed up to the Stoddard area.
