LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Hundreds of La Crosse County employees did not get paid on time Friday due to a problem with a financial transactions network.

More than 400 county employees did not receive paychecks Friday, County Administrator Steve O'Malley tells News 8.

O'Malley says the county has been working with banks to figure out the problems with an "automated clearing house" (ACH), which banks use to transfer payroll payments.

O'Malley says the La Crosse County Finance Department has been working on the problem with area banks, and they expect to have a resolution by Friday night.

Roughly half of La Crosse County employees were scheduled to be paid today, while the other half will be paid next week.
