Marquette Law School and the Milwaukee Bar Association are partnering to provide free legal advice to underserved areas.
And, they'll do that be retrofitting a bus which can travel outside areas currently served by legal volunteers in the metro Milwaukee area.
Marquette says the mobile legal clinic is made possible by a gift from law school alums Frank Daily and Julianna Ebert. They wanted to honor the pro bono work done by their longtime partner at Quarles & Brady, Mike Gonring.
Ebert says Gonring had a vision of a bus that could reach people who were unable to get to the courthouse or other locations. The mobile clinic is an extension of pro bono work already being done in the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, where lawyers and law students provide legal advice.
