LA FARGE, Wis. -- The largest organic cooperative in the United States is expanding its Wisconsin headquarters.

Organic Valley announced Friday a $6.7 million addition to its La Farge headquarters is complete. The company says the addition will add 84 jobs.

“Expanding our headquarters is a reflection of our growth,” says George Siemon, one of the founding farmers and CEO of Organic Valley. “As we serve more farmer-owners and meet increasing consumer demands for organic, naturally we need more employees. We’re proud to bring new jobs right here to Southwest Wisconsin.”

The 33,000 square-foot space includes a comprehensive research and development facility complete with a sensory lab, processing lab capable of simulating product conditions, wet chemistry and microbiology lab, packaging laboratory and library, technical library and innovation room.

Founded in 1988, Organic Valley represents 1,687 farmers in 35 states, 500 of which are in Wisconsin, and three Canadian provinces.
