LA CROSSE, Wis. -- A man charged in a series of burglaries in Onalaska pleads not guilty.

28 year old Nicholas Marcum was arrested in January after an Onalaska Police investigation into 20 garage burglaires and several vehicle entries over a three-month period.

Police say Marcum confessed to the burglaries after a search of a home turned up stolen property.

La Crosse County Judge Ramona Gonzalez ruled Friday there is enough evidence for Marcum to stand trial.

Marcum stood mute in court and a not guilty plea was entered for him.

Marcum faces five felony counts of burglary. He is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
