A Fox Valley teenager has pleaded not guilty in a fatal crash that police say occurred because she was texting while driving.
Nineteen-year-old PaKou Xiong is charged in Outagamie County with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. Investigators reviewed Xiong's cell phone records and say they found an exchange of text messages in the moments leading up to the crash that killed James Weiss. He was biking in Kimberly when he was struck July 28.
The Post-Crescent says a trial is scheduled July 9. A conviction carries a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
