Goodwill officially opened its doors at the Mormon Coulee location with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday morning.
The La Crosse Goodwill Retail Store and Training Center is bigger than the store that closed on Rose Street, which closed to shoppers on February 22.
Store leaders see today's grand opening as another great retail spot in the city and also as a place to help train workers looking to find jobs.
"We are a retail store and a training center and yeah we do, we give our participants some of our natural supports as well as some job coaching supports from our community partners," said Kira Blake, Goodwill Community Development.
There are 17 participants already in the training program for this new store. Store leaders say the handicapped accessibility will allow them to add more trainees in the near future.
