Marvin Windows exec appreciates Obama shout-out
The president of the Minnesota company that President Obama praised in his convention speech says she appreciates the recognition, but wouldn't say if she supports his reelection.
Susan Marvin is president of Marvin Windows in Warroad, Minn. The company has weathered the recession without laying off any of its 4,000 employees nationwide. It has cut some hours and benefits instead.
Marvin tells The Associated Press Friday that's part of the privately held company's mission statement. But she also says businesses need profits to survive.
Marvin backed former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty's GOP presidential bid. She wouldn't say if she supports Obama or Republican Mitt Romney now.
She says her choice will be the candidate she feels is most committed to "facilitating the opportunity for profits and a healthy capitalism."
