Lt. Governor Kleefisch visits La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch made a campaign stop in La Crosse Monday.
Kleefisch is in a recall battle against democrat Mahlon Mitchell, the President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin.
Kleefisch was asked whether her campaign would be hurt by Governor Scott Walker's "divide and conquer" comments that surfaced last week regarding collective bargaining.
"I think the things that impact the campaign are making sure that the facts get out, the savings of $1 billion between state and local government, and the surplus that we're going to end up with at the end of this biennial budget year," she says.
Mitchell has opposed the collective bargaining law since it was introduced, even though police and firefighter unions were originally exempt from the collective bargaining law.
