Local organizations are taking a new approach to fighting hunger.
At least 30 groups related to feeding those in need packed into the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in La Crosse Tuesday night.
It's an attempt to unify the efforts of all the organizations, and create a more efficient food system. That includes figuring out the challenges they are facing.
One group involved is the Hunger Task Force. The executive director says this is a great way to get all of the organizations doing great work to communicate better. "I see this as a very good start to the process so we can get a really unified system in this area with all players involved," said Hunger Task Force Executive Director Shelly Krause.
Tuesday was the first meeting for the effort. A second one is being planned next month.
