LA CROSSE, Wis. -

An area tradition comes to an end in La Crosse with one last year of memories.

For 25 years, Tim Lewis has been dressing up as Santa and spending every December 23 on his roof.

His family lives near the busy intersection of Highway 16 and County Road B. For years, families have been driving by the so-called "Santa House" to see the big guy dressed up sitting on top of the house.

Lewis uses a spotlight to make it easy to see him from the road. But this spring, his family is moving to the other side of the state, meaning the tradition comes to an end.

"I will miss being Santa," Lewis said. "I just hope, like I said earlier, I hope we will have someone who will have as much fun as I've had over the years, seeing the kids and bringing some cheer to their day."

Lewis is hopeful that whoever buys the house will keep the tradition going. He says it's been just a really fun thing to do for his own kids and other children in our community.
