The Linn County Board of Supervisors has rejected a request by auditor Joel Miller to pay his legal fees as he continues fighting with the board over his power.
The Gazette reports that County Auditor Joel Miller notified the board on Monday that he'll be appealing a November ruling by a Linn County District Court judge. The judge sided with supervisors, who said Miller didn't have power to conduct audits of county departments without a request from the board.
The supervisors also told Miller on Monday that board wouldn't pay his legal bills. The Linn County attorney can't represent both the board and Miller. So far Miller's lawyer has billed the county about $15,600.
