LA CROSSE, Wis. -

The cold weather hanging on as long as it has is delaying a spring tradition in La Crosse.

Rudy's Drive-In still hasn't opened for the season.

Last year, was the earliest they've ever opened. This year will be the latest.

However, they have been busy working since early February to get things up and running, including clearing snow from the lot.

And while they plan to open later this week, you won't see anyone rolling around your car. "Car hops probably won't be skating for the first week or so, usually that's the case anyway, get all the dirt, gravel, sand out of the parking lot so it's nice and clean for them to start skating," said Rudy's La Crosse manager Justin Smith.

Smith says they plan to open Friday at 10 a.m. The Sparta location is already open.
