MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Former state Rep. John Lehman has defeated fake Democrat Tamra Varebrook in a state Senate recall primary.

Unofficial results from Tuesday's election show Lehman, a Racine Democrat, with 68 percent of the vote. Varebrook, of Union Grove, had 32 percent. Lehman will face Republican Sen. Van Wanggaard in a June 5 general recall election.

Lehman and two other Democrats want to oust Wanggaard and two other incumbent Republican senators as payback for passing Republican Gov. Scott Walker's law restricting public workers' union rights. Another Democrat is vying for a chance to face Republican Rep. Jerry Petrowski for an open seat in that same election.

All four Democrats faced Republicans running as Democrats in the primary. The GOP recruited the fake candidates to ensure every Democrat had a primary.
