LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

Cameras are watching for inattentive drivers in La Crosse.

GO Riteway, the new busing company for the La Crosse School District, has four cameras on each bus. Three are pointed inwards, but the fourth is watching the front of the bus for other drivers.

GO Riteway's Safety Director says the outward facing camera helps in many situations.

"There's a lot going on in the driver's seat of course, when you're watching traffic and discharging students, so having the video helps the driver remember what actually occurred. Maybe they don't remember the color of the vehicle, or if it was a Tahoe or a pickup truck, and this helps the officer as well identify the vehicle that was involved,” said GO Riteway Safety Director David Butcher.

GO Riteway says they have not had to use footage from the outward facing camera in La Crosse yet.
