La Crosse residents forced out of homes after Christmas day fire
Several La Crosse residents will be out of their homes until next week after a Christmas Day apartment fire on Ristow Court.
Nobody was injured, but the damage forced at least four people out of their apartments.
They won't be let back in until fire inspectors are able to take a look at the building. Because of the holiday, that won't happen until Monday.
In the meantime, the American Red Cross is helping the residents with housing, food and other basic needs.
One Red Cross volunteer was called in to help on Christmas Day but didn't mind being called in on a holiday.
"I'm appreciative of what I have and it's nice that I can give back to somebody on Christmas," Bob Milisch said."It's nice to give back to somebody any day but obviously during the holidays its even better."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
