LA CROSSE, Wis. -

La Crosse police handed out fewer alternate side parking tickets this year.

Police issued more than 15,000 tickets between November 1st and April 1st. That's down almost 3,000 tickets from last season.

That means a big drop in revenue. If everyone pays their fines on time, the city will collect a little more than $150,000, which is $40,000 less than last year. But if tickets are not paid within ten days, the fine doubles.
