La Crosse firefighters show off mustaches for fundraiser
A little stache is going a long way to raise some cash.
The first ever 'Stache Bash' for the American Cancer Society was held Tuesday night at Howie's in La Crosse. The organization teamed up with Firefighters Local 127.
The firefighters paid $20 to grow a mustache during no-shave November or "Movember" as it's called.
About two dozen firefighters grew out their facial hair and Tuesday night it was judged for a number of awards.
"We have the best trier, we have the most distinguished looking, the most disturbing looking mustache, the best stache stuck working, which means we're actually going to go out and see the guys that couldn't make it because they're on duty to see how their mustaches look, and we have the fan favorite," said Justine Johnson from the American Cancer Society.
Organizers hope to raise $1,500 and plan to make it bigger next year.
