A pair of city committees come together with an emphasis on transportation.
The Parking Utility Board and the MTU Board held a joint meeting Wednesday night. It was a brainstorming session for city leaders to find solutions for a number of transportation problems, things like demand for parking and the wear and tear on those spots.
One idea is to increase bus service, at least during peak times. "Of course that would be expensive to implement, but it's also very expensive to build a parking lot, or even more so a parking ramp," said the Chair of the Parking Utility Board Audrey Kader.
The committees have a tentative joint meeting scheduled for June.
