Iowan gets 65 months in prison for robbing 2 banks
An Iowa man has been give 65 months in federal prison for robbing two bank branches in Council Bluffs.
Federal prosecutors say 45-year-old William Fiorito Jr., who lives in Pottawattamie County, was sentenced on Wednesday. He must serve three years of supervised release after he leaves prison.
Prosecutors say Fiorito pleaded guilty on Oct. 4 to robbing the two bank branches on Oct. 11, 2011. A teller at the first branch told investigators that Fiorito appeared to have had a handgun inside the waistband of his pants.
No injuries were reported in either robbery.
