Iowa teen admits to involuntary manslaughter
LE MARS, Iowa (AP) -- A 14-year-old boy accused in the shooting death of his stepbrother in Kingsley has admitted to an involuntary manslaughter charge.
The Sioux City Journal says the teen admitted to the charge on Friday in Plymouth County Juvenile Court. Admitting to a charge in juvenile court is similar to pleading guilty in district court.
In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop a charge of willful injury.
The boy is accused in the death of 17-year-old Kyle Badgerow on Dec. 9.
A judge set a disposition hearing, which is similar to sentencing in district court, for March 16.
The Associated Press generally doesn't identify juveniles accused in a crime.
