IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -

The first-degree murder trial of a man charged in the 2009 death of an Iowa City landlord is set to begin.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports jury selection for Justin Marshall's trial is scheduled Tuesday in Johnson County. The trial is expected to last two weeks.

Marshall is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of John Versypt of Cordova, Ill.

A judge ruled earlier this month that an interview Marshall had with police will be inadmissible in court because he wasn't read his Miranda rights at the beginning.

Marshall's attorney did not immediately return a message Monday.

Another suspect has pleaded guilty to lesser charges in the case. A third suspect is awaiting trial.
