Iowa man claims $2 million Powerball prize
A southeast Iowa man has won a $2 million Powerball prize.
Lottery officials say Michael Lally, of Barnes City, bought his winning ticket Saturday at an Oskaloosa convenience store. He claimed his prize Monday after realizing just hours earlier that he was the big winner.
The 38-year-old says he bought his ticket at a different convenience store than the one he normally visits.
Lally says he plans to pay for his son's college education and put some money away for retirement. He also plans to keep working at his job in construction.
Lally's ticket was the only ticket in the country that won a $2 million prize Saturday. A liquor store in New Jersey sold the winning ticket to the $338 million Powerball jackpot. No winner has come forward.
