Hundreds of organic farmers converge on La Crosse
Hundreds of organic farmers from all of the country are in La Crosse this week. It's part of Organic Valley's annual meeting.
600 farmers from 26 states are attending workshops, hearing from speakers in their field, and learning about the latest advances in organic farming.
Organic Valley is America's largest cooperative of organic farmers, representing more than 1,800 in the U.S. and Canada.
The conference gives them a chance to talk face-to-face about issues facing their industry. "Living in Vermont, we don't get to see our friends across the country very often, but this is a chance to keep those relationships maintained and to have that family atmosphere which we hold dear," said organic dairy farmer Regina Beidler.
This is the 25th anniversary of Organic Valley.
