is here to give us some tips for exercising when you
are not feeling well.
Is it okay to exercise when you are sick?
-mild symptoms, neck up coughing, sneezing, runny
-listen to your body, if you feel up to it go ahead
-go for a walk or jog instead of your normal run
-gentle yoga instead of weightlifting
-if you workout at a gym, be courteous of those around
-always clean your equipment after use
-cough or sneeze into your elbow
How do I know when I should skip my workout?
-more intense symptoms, neck down body aches/fatigue,
deep coughing, chest congestion, fever
-skip your workout for the day
-rest and drink lots of fluids
-allow your body to put its energy toward recovering
before adding the stress of exercise
How soon can I get back to my workout routine after
-once you start to feel better, slowly ease back into
your workout routine
-if you did not exercise for 5 days, take the next
5 days to ease back into your workout routine
-start with low intensity exercises and gradually
increase intensity and duration until you are back
