MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Hennepin County sheriff's office is investigating a report of a police impersonator making a traffic stop in Corcoran.

A caller notified Corcoran police about 10:15 p.m. Thursday that a man driving a black-and-white car with a red "bubble" light on top had made a traffic stop.

Sheriff's detectives interviewed the female driver who reported the incident and determined the person who made the stop was not a police officer.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He had dark hair with a black-and-white beard. He was wearing a dark shirt with no markings.

His vehicle resembled an older police car. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hennepin County sheriff's office.
