LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Governor Scott Walker made a stop in La Crosse Monday, just one day before the much anticipated brat summit.
The governor toured Gundersen Lutheran Monday afternoon. He says he's looking forward to bringing lawmakers together for the summit and trying to restore some civility at the capitol.
Walker served in the legislature for eight years and says he knows it's possible to have constructive arguments in government and still get along. "To the extent that we can renew some of those bonds of friendship that we've had in the past, certainly having a brat and a burger and a beer is a good way to start it out, certainly won't be the last thing but a good way to start," said Governor Walker.
98 state lawmakers have RSVP'd to the barbecue. The Governor himself will be grilling the brats.
