MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- State election officials have given the green light to recall efforts against state Sen. Alberta Darling. That makes her the last of six Republicans set to face an all-but-certain recall election.
The Government Accountability Board cleared the way Tuesday for a recall election, although it did uphold a number of GOP challenges to the recall petition.
If the Republicans decide not to challenge the GAB's decisions in court, the recall elections will likely be held this summer.
Three Democratic state senators are also being targeted for recalls. The GAB last week delayed a final decision on recall efforts against them, saying it needs more time to review challenges.
All nine lawmakers came under fire because of their positions on Republican Gov. Scott Walker's legislation that cut collective bargaining rights for most public employees.
