Funeral services are set for Mary Patros, former Mrs. Oktoberfest and well-known member of the La Crosse community.
Patros’ funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24 at North Presbyterian Church in La Crosse. Her visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to services Saturday at the church. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral home of La Crosse is handling the arrangements.
Her husband passed away several years ago. They were parents to seven children.
Mary Patros was a life-long volunteer in the area. In July, Gundersen Lutheran paid tribute to her as its “greatest volunteer.” She volunteered at the hospital since 1959, racking up more than 30,000 hours of service.Patros held the honor of Mrs.Oktoberfest in 1998.
