Business and civic leaders from around Iowa are expected at an annual fundraiser for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts organizations in the state.
The luncheon is scheduled Wednesday morning at the Meadows Events and Conference Center in Altoona. Gov. Terry Branstad is expected to speak as well as several children.
The event aims to raise money for the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and the Mid-Iowa Council Boy Scouts of America. Nearly 40,000 children in the state are involved in the organizations.
The groups hope to raise a total of $250,000. They brought in more than $200,000 last year.
