BARRE MILLS, Wis.-- Remembering a friend they lost too early in life. Wednesday night, friends of Sara Hougom gathered at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Barre Mills to share stories and memories of her.

Hougom was shot in her La Crosse apartment March 26th in what police call a random act of violence.

As part of the ceremony, they lit up the sky. 260 balloons filled with LED lights were sent into the air to honor her life. "Sara knew so many people, she influenced so many people, just a great person. I just wanted to do something to share our memories about her," says event organizer Karlyee Heidemann.

The event comes just a day after police announced the arrest of two men suspected of shooting Hougom. While it doesn't bring back Sara, it's helping her friends with some closure. "We're a little more at ease of what's going on now that we know who did it an they have them in custody, we're a little less frightened about it," says Heidemann.

At the event they also sold items to remember Sara and took donations. Proceeds are going to Sara'a family.
