On Saturday night, veterans on the Freedom Honor Flight returned home after a long day of sightseeing in Washington D.C.

The day trip takes area veterans to the United States capital to see memorials built in their honor including the World War II and Vietnam memorials.

A total of ninety veterans and their guardians went on the flight and organizers say the it was a success.

"This trip was fantastic. Every trip is fantastic. These guys--and women, I think we have 3 or 4 women on this flight also--they get a chance to see stuff they've never seen before. They get a chance to see people come up to them and thank them for their service which they haven't seen before," Mike Weissenberger, Freedom Honor Flight Treasurer said.

This was the 18th flight.
