LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -

Snow is falling pretty steadily in a very small part of our community Tuesday.  But don't worry, it won't affect your morning commute.

Snow machines started pumping out the first batch of snow of the season at Mt. La Crosse at around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

It's a sort of "test run" for the machines. Mt. La Crosse officials don't expect the snow made Tuesday to stick around for too long.

"The majority of this is just to make sure we have all the bugs out of the system to make sure everything runs okay," Mt. La Crosse's Willy Roesley said.

Mt. La Crosse hopes to open the slopes by the first weekend in December, weather permitting.
