Festival of Trees creates winter wonderland
Annual fundraiser for local non-profits
Signs of the holiday season are popping up all over La Crosse.
It was a winter wonderland at the Waterfront in downtown La Crosse on Friday night for the Festival of Trees.
It's an annual event sponsored by the Franciscan Skemp Auxilary to support a number of local organizations, including The St. Clare Health Mission, The Boys and Girls Club, and the YWCA.
Organizers are hoping to raise $100,000, a number they have gotten close to in each of the past few years.
More than 30 trees are decked out this year, and organizers say it's not too late to see them.
"The trees are here all weekend, so no matter what event you attend you'll be able to see the trees, they don't leave until after we're finished on Sunday afternoon," said Jonella Rademacher, chair of the event.
The trees will be on dispaly all weekend for the Tiny Tim Gala and a pair of brunches on Sunday.
